Pub/Liquor Store Proposal for 12th Street

The West End Residents Association has received more than a dozen emails to date from residents voicing concern about the proposed pub and liquor store application for the Carpenters Hall on 12th Street.

WERA will be addressing the issue at its next meeting, which is Jan. 29, 7 p.m. at Lord Tweedsmuir Elementary. Notification of the agenda will be sent to people on the contact list mid-January.

Two other key meetings of note:

Open House Jan. 24
The pub/liquor store proponent, Nirmal Walia, will be hosting an open house Thursday, Jan. 24, 7-9 p.m. at 718 12th Street, to present his plans to residents and answer questions.

Public Input Meeting Feb. 25.
The City of New Westminster will be presenting residents with a chance to voice their views at a meeting Monday, Feb. 25, 7 p.m. at City Hall Council Chambers.

Note: Some people may have heard the open house was slated for Friday, Jan. 25, but Keith Coueffin of Bylaws said that this date has been changed to Thursday.
